IoT refers to an internet of things (IoT)

Connect any device (including cell phones, vehicles, appliances and other portable equipment with sensors and actuators) to the Internet so that these objects can exchange data with each other over a network. These security problems can be of the following type :

Data Authentification

After successful data encryption, there is still a chance that the device itself will be hacked.
If there is no way to establish the authenticity of the data communicated to and from an IoT device, security is compromised.

Privacy - Personal Information can be stolen

Then there is the issue of privacy and data sharing.
Not only do these devices collect personal information such as users names and phone numbers, but they can also monitor users activities (e.g., when users are at home and what they ate during lunch).

Connectivity -Billions of devices on a centralized server

One of the biggest challenges for IoT in the future is to connect a large number of devices and huge amounts of data that all these devices will produce.
It will be necessary to find a way to store, track, analyze and make sense of the huge amounts of data that will be generated.

Currently, we use a centralized server/client model to authorize, authenticate and connect multiple nodes on the network. This model is sufficient for the number of IoT devices that are currently part of the ecosystem. However, in the future, when hundreds of billions of devices join the network, it will be difficult to manage all the data and the capacity of today’s cloud servers is so small that they can fail if they have to process large amounts of informations

 

Conversations about IoT are taking place around the world, as we try to understand the impact it will have on our lives. We are also trying to understand what the many opportunities and challenges will be as more and more devices begin to join the IoT.
